Misnomer of the Day

Kinetic military action = an arbitrary war; in this particular case it’s an illegal war declared by the executive branch invoking the war powers act. This unconstitutional war against Libya, is so wrong for so many reasons too numerous to mention here. Instead, ask yourself what right does a community organizer have circumventing congress and committing our resources namely, American blood and fortune to a capricious act of war predicated on altruism? This foreign policy blunder has no logical purpose and serves only to empower our enemies while endangering American lives at home and abroad.

Misnomer of the Day

Quantitative Easing, otherwise known as monetizing the national debt, is Federal Reserve lingo for printing fiat currency and dumping it on the market through the central banking cartel. This impetuous act has only one conclusion; death by inflation.

Money or currency is subject to the same laws of supply and demand as all other commodities. In the afore mentioned scenario, the market is flooded with fiat money competing for tangible goods and services, too much currency demanding too few goods, raises the prices of commodities across the board. The only easing effect is the effortless way in which the government robs the wealth of its citizens through inflation, devaluing the money in your pocket as we speak.

Remember we have already had QE I and QE II and Bernanke has said publically there will be no QE3; however, inflation is the primary role of the Federal Reserve, that and creating boom and bust cycles associated with artificial manipulation of interest rates. It wouldn’t surprise me if they change the name of this destructive practice to make it more palatable to the masses and then reintroduce it as something new, something special. Hey, how about Qualitative Easing?  And now: <a href="http://www.divshare.com/flash/audio_embed?data=YTo2OntzOjU6ImFwaUlkIjtpOjQ7czo2OiJmaWxlSWQiO2k6MTQ4ODg1MTQ7czo0OiJjb2RlIjtzOjEyOiIxNDg4ODUxNC1kMDIiO3M6NjoidXNlcklkIjtpOjE5Mzc5NzM7czoxMjoiZXh0ZXJuYWxDYWxsIjtpOjE7czo0OiJ0aW1lIjtpOjEzMDU5MDA5MTM7fQ==&autoplay=“>The Anecdotal Objectivist

Misnomer of the Day

The word Progressive, when applied to the ideology of the left, means Socialism: Marxist Socialism to be exact. The word progressive lends the impression of advancement forward with some vision for the future; this is far too kind a word to describe the left.  It is so typical of the left to adopt this word in an attempt to cloak their deeds, which happen to be less than desirable. A march toward socialism is not progress. Totalitarianism has been around since the dawn of civilization trying to resurrect socialistic disasters of historic proportion is regressive, not progressive.

To ascribe the word progressive to define the leftist ideology is to bolster all that is putrefied; it’s like glorifying progressive malignant cancer. Hey, I have a progressive idea, let’s call them what they are (Marxist Socialists) and maybe, if we repeat this truth over and over, people will come to adopt it as true. Wouldn’t that be a refreshing change? Anecdotal Objectivist

Misnomer of the Week

Predatory Capitalism is another oxymoron frequently tossed about by the talking heads of media stardom. Capitalism in governed by inherent market forces; supply and demand, acquisitions and mergers, relative product desirability, quality vs. quantity, innovation and marketing, all in an endless pursuit to capture market share. This is competitive not predatory.

A predatory industry or entity is one that is incentivized by government intervention. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac come to mind, these government sponsored entities deemed to big to fail. Every time the government subsidizes industry they create an unfair market advantage fraught with predation. Can you say GM and GE? Consider other entities granted immunity against the anti-trust laws curtailed in the Sherman Act, and presto, you have Union Labor, or should I say Predatory Labor?

Misnomer of the Week

Crony Capitalism: this little gem of a misnomer is designed to beguile the most impressionable amongst us. Literal Translation = malfeasance and Corruption.

It’s amazing how all economic government failures are blamed on Capitalism. Truth is capitalism, laisser-faire capitalism, has never existed in the history of theUnited States. What we have is a bastardized mixed economy where lobbyists bribe politicians with campaign contributions, kick backs, low interest real-estate loans ect. In return, the government picks industry winners and then showers them with favors like no compete contracts, tax exemptions, favorable regulations, and monopolistic privileges, all of which have absolutely nothing to do with capitalism.

Moving Forward

The time has come for me to change the format of this blog. I have always contended that the battle I wage is a philosophical one, and the best way to teach, the best way to learn, is by example. I hear the voices of fellow objectivist as they apply philosophy to life. Many of their questions arise in the form of predicament stemming from an event or situation. After thirty five years of objective living I am in a position to cognize, categorize, analyze, commiserate, instigate, and liberate. You see, life is a confidence game, and the only way to grow this powerful asset is by alleviating the contradictions that aggravate our daily lives, this paves the way for mastery of the more abstract particulars that elevate us as human beings.

These days, for me, the only contradiction that exists is how to live a rational life in an irrational world. This is no easy task. Proper philosophy is the key and objectivism is the release. However, this demands discipline, discipline most people cannot fathom, nor commit, for they lack the necessary motivation required to develop their potential. It is my hope that during the course of this production, some individuals will grasp the primary concepts of objectivism, take the initiative and benefit, for they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

What I’m offering is a rich lifestyle, one I have chosen for myself and those who wish to join me on this life walk. The next time you see this blog it will contain what I dub The Misnomer of the Week. Here I will isolate the contentious nomenclature changes employed by irrational pragmatists; these paragons of duplicity who obfuscate reality and perpetuate emotional subjectivism in order to deceive the impressionable amongst us. Following this, there will be a link to my podcast which will be an evolving collection of anecdotes pertaining to objectivism. Here at the Tipi Wind Ranch you can expect to find literature, philosophy, horsemanship, gardening, farming, cooking, adventure, nature, and much more, as reality commands center stage in this wilderness oasis we call home.

Where are the Arabs?

Where are the Arabs, these so called rebels, who are fighting for freedom in Libya? It has been days since American forces bombed Libyan air defenses establishing a no fly zone. So where are these rebels, and why aren’t they fighting Gaddafi loyalists to retake the ground previously lost in battle? Who are these rebels and what faction of Islam do they represent?

According to the CIA, the rebel opposition in Libya is mujahideen and El-Qaeda, the same ragtag Islamic ideologues and terrorist who support the Jihad and fought the soviets in Afghanistan back in the 1980s. Back then, the American government armed the rebels with weapons and intelligence, and after the soviets abandoned Afghanistan, the same rebels turned the weapons on each other in feudal civil war. Later, many of these armaments were turned against the west in numerous acts of aggression and terror.

If we have learned anything: Arab Muslims can’t be trusted. Take the Arab League of Nations for example; they implored the international community, United Nations, and the United States to implement a no fly zone over Libya, then, once the bombs started dropping, they rushed to condemn the Unites States for attacking the Libyan military with air strikes. Where are these Arabs? Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, these countries have militaries and should be leading the charge in Libya.

It seems these shiftless Arabs are waiting for an Iraqi solution, one where the United States bound by a foreign policy predicated on (Just War Theory), do all the heavy lifting, capturing or killing Gaddafi, paving the way for the next Islamic totalitarian theocracy to be ushered into power under the hoax of democracy. Maybe, if the war is protracted enough, Obama can rebuild the power grid and infrastructure of Libya, redistributing more of America’s wealth and blood in the process. We all know how the Obama administration hates to squander a good crisis.
